Bookings, cancellations and charges

Cancellation policy for individuals: The hotel will charge full cost in the case of late cancellation or no show. Standard cancellation is 48 hours prior to arrival. Please note that reservations made at discounted rates or other specials and packages other policies may apply.

Guests are required to provide a credit card details on booking or arrival.  All prices are specified per room and per night and include all service charges and the value added tax. For groups and more than 5 rooms from the same party other cancellation policies apply. Please contact the hotel directly for further information.

Hotel regulations

Check in time is from 15:00. Check out time is between no later than 12:00 at noon. 

Guests shall comply with all rules, regulations and instructions at the hotel, including but not limited to security procedures, health and safety procedures, registration requirements.

Íslandshótel shall be entitled to refuse a guest entry or accommodation or to require a guest to leave the hotel if unreasonable behavior is displayed, be it threatening or abusive, causing disturbance to other guests or staff members. 

We have a non-smoking policy in hotel rooms. There is a significant room recovery fee for guests who do not comply with this rule.

Child policy

Infants at the age of 0-2 years stay free of charge in cot in every room type. Children at the age of 3-6 years the accommodation is free of charge when sharing a deluxe or superior room with 1 or 2 adults but need to be charged for accommodation in other hotelrooms. Children under 13 years of age must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times while on the Hotel's premises.

Lost property

Lost and found items will remain on the Hotel's premises for a period of three months. To claim any lost and found items, a guest should first contact the hotel.

Complaints or comments

We strive to cater to the individual needs of our guests at all times, so if you feel there is an area that we can improve, or if you are unsatisfied with your visit. Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at one of our hotels should be reported right away to the hotel’s reception at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved at the time.

Force Majeure

Íslandshótel cannot be held liable for delays or cancellations that are caused by events that are beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to strikes, restriction on supplies, acts of civil or military authority, acts of terrorism, insurrections, peace or army action, civil commotion, demonstrations, natural disasters, etc.
